69th Independence Day Celebrations



69th Independence day was celebrated in a grand manner at Panchayat Union Middle School, Kurungulam - 609 608, Nannilam block, Thiruvarur district. Senior citizen Sri. Rengasamy hoisted the Indian National Flag followed by morning assembly.
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Headmistress Srimathi S.Mangalachelvi gave the welcome note followed by inaugural speeches by the key people of the village.
 
 



 
The newly designed emblem for the school designed by Srimathi Suchitra Raveesh was inaugurated by the Panchayat Vice President Sri. Santhakumar.
 
 
2014-15 Annual report and Achievements read by the Math’s teacher  Srimathi Umamageswari.
 
 
 
Srimathi Kavitha Zonal  Supervisor (வளமைய  மேர்பார்வையாளர்)  for Nannilam block schools participated in the function, addressed the crowd emphasizing the importance of primary education and distributed few prizes for the sports day winners.
 
 
Prizes were distributed for the sports day winners. The Primary school students were awarded with stationary kits, colour pencils, sketch pens, cryons etc.,
 
 
The middle school students were awarded with medals and certificates.
 



4 Alumni of P.U.M School, Kurungulam,  scored 400+ out of 500 in the SSLC exams in 2014-15 were  honored by cash award of Rs.500/- sponsored by Sri.K.Chandrasekar.

51 Philanthropists were added to the கல்விப்புரவலர் திட்டம் (Corpus fund scheme) by which we now have 182 Philanthropist's with a fund of Rs.1.81 lakhs as fixed deposits. This is the only school in Nannilam block to have so many Philanthropists.
 
The whole program was dedicated to our beloved Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam by short speeches, songs, poems etc.,
 
Cultural events and Yoga programs performed by students were highlights which was oppurtunity for the students to showcase their hidden talents and their energy levels.
 
 
 
 


 
The program was anchored by Sri. Arul Kumar, Srimathi Mythili, Srimathi Brindha Devi, Sri Saravanan  and Vote of thanks by Sri. Arul Perumal. The program ended with National Anthem followed by sweets distribution.
 
Thanks for the great support and motivation from the teachers, parents and villagers.
