Republic Day Greetings!!
The Republic Day Celebrations at Kurungulam Village started
around 8:30AM with the flag hoisting ceremony at the Panchayat board office.
Sri. K.Chandrasekar hoisted the flag in the presence of the Sri.Jeganathan (Panchayat Board President)
and Sri. Santhakumar (Panchayat Board Vice President) and other villagers followed by sweets
distribution.
After the flag hoisting at the Panchayat office, the Republic Day and the Annual Day Celebrations started at the school around 9:00AM. The function kicked off with flag hositing by Sri. Sivaprakasam followed by recitation of National Pledge, Tamil Thai Vazhthu and a Salute to our national flag.
The Headmistress Smt. S.Mangalachelvi welcomed the key
people Sri. Veeramani, Sri.Sivaprakasam, Sri.K.Chandrasekar, Sri.S.Radhakrishnan,
Sri.Jeganathan, Sri. Santhakumar, Sri.Manoharan, Sri.Gurumurthy, Sri.Sakthi, the Students, Parents and other
villagers with the welcome note.
The Republic Day Speech was done Sri.Sivaprakasam and the VAO Sri.Manoharan. Sri. Sivaprakasam remembered and shared his school days experience and also gave a brief speech on the Iron Man of India Sri. Vallabhai Patel.
Sri. A.Arulkumar anchored the event wonderfully with his modulated voice which added feather to the cap.

Sri Manoharan emphasized the importance of school education and mother tongue.
The much awaited cultural programs started with our traditional classical Bharathanatiyam dance. The staffs had planned for dance programs and also short skits in english to showcase the talent of the children, that the P.U.M School is also more than the convents.

It's only 10:30AM folks.. Students from other schools are back home and wishing if they could have similar programs in their schools.

Finishing with Nation Integration song இந்தியா இந்தியா from வசந்த் டிவி.
The teacher's were hounred with a token gift for all the hardwork and being behind the screens..
As a part of our plan tree saplings were also planted.
