67th Republic day celebrations
were celebrated as Mupperum Vizha(முப்பெரும் விழா) at P.U.M School, Kurungulam.
This time due to rains, the exams were
delayed and lack of time the cultural events and annual day celebrations were not clubbed
along with Republic day. Instead the school Head Mistress and her team had
planned differently. Along with Republic Day, two more events - Rally on Environmental awareness and Distribution of tree saplings were organized.
Republic Day:

Rally on Environmental Awareness:
The school children went around the streets of Kurungulam and Theparkudi raising slogans and distributing pamphlets on how to preserve the environment.
Tree Saplings Distribution:
200 Punga tree saplings were distributed to the school children and public. Thanks to BT. Sri. Saravanan for his innovative thought of distributing the saplings and his initiative in building a team of students for raising the saplings within a short span of time.
